MARGARET C. LANGLIE earned her law degree, cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law in 1982. She concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, including the preparation of wills and trusts; probate and trust administration; formation and maintenance of business/organizational entities and consultation on general business matters; and serving as a neutral mediator and scrivener. Margaret earned a Bachelor’s degree from Bemidji State University (Minnesota) and did postgraduate work at the University of Alaska in Anchorage.

Prior to attending law school Margaret had a brief career as a journalist and freelance writer; managed a residential construction business in Alaska; and taught high school English for 10 years. She was a founding director of a community bank and served from 2000 to 2003 as the first woman on the board of directors of Banner Corporation, now parent company of Islanders Bank. Margaret helped to found a chapter of Habitat for Humanity in Leavenworth; was a member of the board of directors of the Northshore Senior Center in Bothell; and served as board member and advisor to many nonprofit organizations. She is a member of the San Juan Island WSU Beach Watchers 2010 class and is exploring volunteer opportunities related to stewardship, affordable housing, and seniors.

Margaret and her law partner, Peter Goddu, are married and have three children and five grandchildren. Her leisure activities include kayaking, walking, knitting (when it is cold or dreary), and reading.
